Fukiko is an internationally acclaimed dancer, choreographer and educator whose work bridges contemporary dance, music, and visual art across the UK, Europe, and Japan. Born in New York and raised in Japan, she has built a career defined by cultural and artistic exchange.

As a performer, she has worked with leading companies including Henri Oguike Dance Company, Company Wayne McGregor, and Akram Khan Company. As a choreographer, she is known for her work with Hikaru Utada, having created choreography for the singer's music videos, the 20th Anniversary Tour, seen by 140,000 people across Japan before its release on Netflix and, most recently, Pappaparadise.

Her choreographic work spans collaborations with composer Dustin O'Halloran (1001, Spiritus Naturae Aeternus), taiko drummer Kensaku Satou (Kishin), and United Visual Artists at Barcelona's Casa Batlló. In 2022 she was appointed Honourable Professor at Shikoku University, where she created UMITOKAMI, an interdisciplinary work blending contemporary dance with traditional Japanese instruments and Joruri puppet theatre, presented annually since its premiere.

Her commercial and film work includes Thom Yorke's Ingenue and campaigns for UNIQLO, Toyota, and Diners Club. She is currently a core collaborator with Clod Ensemble and Neon Dance.
